Artist Bio
Cadence is a mixed media artist, with a focus on acrylic and oil painting. Born in Brantford ON, Cadence relocated to Montreal in pursuit of formal education in fine arts. In 2024, she obtained her BFA in Studio Arts, graduating with distinction and having been awarded several scholarships and paid internships. Throughout her studies, Cadence continued to develop a personal practice, exhibiting at several shows and taking part in cultural events.
Cadence prides herself on a dynamic artistic approach, incorporating various styles, techniques and materials to achieve her creative visions. Illustrative forms are often highlighted in her practice but are not defined by a niche style. Her works do not draw from a particular artistic genre or mode but rather reinterprets visual codes from several different artistic and craft traditions towards personal expression. Cadence’s work includes painting, drawing, digital works, sculpture, foundry, fiber arts, woodworking and print media among others.
